Dear Bruntsfield Families –

It’s been a busy term, and it has been great to see our Clubs team build on the successes from the Autumn. New clubs have been added for the summer term, and you can find out more on the Clubs section of our website, including how to get more involved.

The playground project is also making good progress, and we’re always looking for more ways to get families involved, perhaps even getting your hands dirty – or more aptly, getting green fingered – helping with some gardening. Find out more about getting involved and sharing your ideas and expertise on our website.

The A+ group has shared some ideas and next steps about how we can become an anti-racist school, in which we all have a part to play. We’ve shared an update from Zaki, the group’s facilitator and a school parent.

You’ve hopefully heard through your child, or through attending the recent Parent Council meeting, about ‘Bruntsfield Heroes’, a creative writing project being led by school dad and author, Ramy Habeeb (pen name, Ramy Vance). Our kids will be publishing a collaborative book at the end of the year, helping to save the school from becoming a rubbish tip! More to follow next term on how to support this project and when the book will go to print.

Finally, we’re always looking for more families to get involved – and at the AGM in September we will be electing a new Chair, Secretary and Fundraising Officer. If you’re interested, take a look at the ‘About Us‘ section on the website for an overview of the roles, and get in touch with any of the Office Bearers for an informal chat.

Enjoy your break,

Ros
