After School Ballet Club

For the last 4 years Claire has run the popular ballet club with Bruntsfield Primary after school clubs. Last term we moved online due to the pandemic. It’s a little different but it proved to be a brilliant way to work on basic techniques, exploring musicality and movement. Keeping fit and helping with student well-being and providing a source of joy.

Ballet Class Structure:

We always manage to dance, dance, dance! From barre work, port de bras, petite allegro there is a lot we can still cover online. Ballet club is a safe place for self-expression also covering mime and storytelling. Last term we created our own ballet, exploring characters and themes, mixing classical composers with modern music and styles too. For younger students we engage learning with the occasional carefully crafted game and for older students we use the time to also focus on consolidating techniques with some flexibility/ stretch focus and floor barre too.

Performing Arts: ‘Smile!’ Creative Hour

Class Content

We test our resilience with different challenges in all areas of movement, singing and voice and will also have storytelling and mini book group where we delve into other worlds, explore different authors, bring the characters to life and talk about our favourites. A carefully crafted term where each week brings a new creative adventure. Open to all ages- we work together.

Classes will take place via Zoom. A Zoom code will be updated weekly and sent to all participants on the day of the class (so you don’t have to search!)

Teacher

Claire is a professional performer and teacher with over 20 years’ experience and graduate from the Royal Academy of Music, London. Founder of 3Theatre and mum of two at Bruntsfield Primary.
