It has been another busy and productive year for Bruntsfield’s Parent Council. Here’s a look at what we have all achieved together as a community:
- New Fundraising Working Group launched, bringing in fresh ideas and modern tools to support the school.
- Online donations and payments introduced through Square, making it easier to donate, buy tickets and support events.
- First-ever Colour Fun Run, a fantastic new event that raised £5,345 for the school and charity, now set to become an annual tradition.
- Kilted Christmas Tree partnership created, offering families discounted trees and wreaths while raising extra funds.
- Winter and Summer Fairs returned in full swing, raising a combined £5,700+ and building great community spirit.
- Halloween Costume Swap and P1 Teddy Bears’ Picnic* continued as fun, inclusive events.
- Secured a £2,000 Virgin Money grant* to fund a new Promethean board for the nurture room.
- Sustained our pre-loved school uniform supply, helping families and reducing waste, with huge thanks to Anna Docherty.
- Launched the Parent Council WhatsApp Community, improving communication across class and working groups.
- Introduced a new Parent Q&A system for easier communication with the Headteacher.
- Represented parents on key education issues, including budget cuts, ASL provision and road safety.
- Helped form a new network of Parent Councils across local schools to share ideas and collaborate.
- Supported improvements to the Digital Learning Policy following parent feedback on iPad use.
- Expanded After School Clubs, thanks to Stefan’s incredible work over six years, rebuilding the programme and ensuring access for all.
- Commissioned plans for a playground redesign, which will guide future investment priorities.
