Dear Parents and Carers
I hope this finds you all well and that you and your loved ones are safe.
What strange times we live in – the last couple of weeks have felt like a whirlwind and we are all learning to live quite a different life for now. I hope all the key workers in our community have sorted the childcare they required and that where you are shielding vulnerable people you have access to the supplies you need.
Home schooling is not an easy task – especially if you are trying to work at the same time but hopefully you have been receiving the information from the class teachers, despite a few blips along the way. I will continue to chat with Carol to try to ensure that after the Easter break we get the tasks a little ahead of a Monday morning to help us plan our weeks better. I know many classes have had various video chats and I am hoping that we can get the teachers to get involved with these at some point.
The Facebook group (BPS Home Learning) which Jenni has set up has lots of resources across all aspects of the curriculum. I realise that not everyone uses this platform but I’m afraid it’s the easiest to update and house all the information.
We will look at running our next PC meeting due in May via one of the many video platforms as we will need to ensure we are ready for the September club booking system; review our finances and evaluate some of the areas we have invested in over the last year. These are important as is the recruitment of new volunteers for a number of Office Bearer roles. But these things we can think about after the Easter break (!)
For now, we should focus our attention on looking after ourselves and each other, following government advice on social distancing and waiting until at least 6pm before pouring the gin! Remember, we are a community and we should support each other through these challenging times.
With love and thanks to all our key workers – stay safe and well and please feel free to email me any of your school related concerns.
Best wishes
